Station
Jesus meets His mother
|
Officiant: We adore thee, O Christ and we praise thee. (genuflect) All: Because by Thy holy cross Thou hast redeemed the world. Officiant: Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his disciple. When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, He saith unto His mother, "Woman, behold thy son!" The He said to the disciple, "Behold thy mother!" And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home (John 19:25-27) All: What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Sion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee? (Lamentations 2:13) Let us pray. WE beseech Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ, let Thy mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. whose holy soul was pierced by the sword of sorrow at the hour of Thy Paassion, implore Thy mercy for us, both now and at the hour of our death, Who livest and reignest, world without end. Sing: Make me feel as thou hast felt: Make my soul to glow and melt With the love of Christ, my Lord. | |
